Film and Media Studies Job Description
Film Studies. Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies, tenure-track position, to start in September 2019. M.F.A. or Ph.D. with specialization in digital film and media production required. Responsibilities for this position include teaching seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year, including introductory courses in digital film and media production and upper-level courses in short fiction, documentary, and new media production. The department seeks a creative storyteller with a record of achievement and an expectation of future creative work in this area. The ideal candidate will possess leadership potential to develop an integrated digital film, video, and new media production track within the Film Studies major and collaborate with students and faculty in Creative Writing, Visual Arts, and Interdisciplinary Arts. Interest and experience in teaching screenwriting is also desirable.
Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two-semester first-year program.
