Assistant Professor of French, tenure-track position, to start September, 2019. Ph.D. in French required. Generalist to teach all levels of French language and history, culture, and literature courses. Open specialization. Native or near-native French fluency required. Duties include teaching seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year, an active research agenda, mentoring undergraduate students, and contributions to department/college service. International experience with students and willingness to lead study abroad programs highly desired. Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two-semester first-year program. Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence.
