Instructor in American Literature, non-tenure track

Eckerd College invites applications for the position of Instructor of Literature, a one-year position beginning September 2019. We seek an American Literature generalist capable of teaching several periods and genres. A Ph.D. in English is required.

The candidate will teach five courses per academic year: two per semester and one three-week January Term class. The candidate must be able to teach courses in the American novel, short story, and poetry, as well as more specialized courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Candidates with experience teaching in environmental literature or ecocriticism are particularly encouraged to apply. Evidence of strong performance in undergraduate teaching is a necessity.
