Political Science. Assistant Professor of American Politics, tenure-track position, to start in Fall 2020. Ph.D. in Political Science required. We are seeking someone to play a significant role in directing our American Politics program within the political science discipline. Specialization is open, but preference will be given to those whose teaching and research focus on one or more of the following topics: Congress, criminal justice, racial or ethnic politics, politics of inclusion, health politics, political campaigns, the Presidency, political behavior, and/or the Supreme Court. The successful candidate will teach seven courses per academic year, (3-1-3), including Introduction to American Politics, our quantitative Political Science Research Methods course, and various electives in candidate's area of specialization. Ability to offer courses that would support our Law & Justice minor would be a plus.
Candidates should have an active scholarly research agenda and a demonstrated background of teaching excellence. Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two-semester first-year program.
