Position Summary
Works collaboratively with the Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving in managing and implementing a successful annual giving program. Responsible for managing a prospect portfolio and cultivating relationships that lead to participation in the annual giving program.
This position is a key role on the Advancement team at Eckerd College. We have an annual goal of raising $1.75M and have our sights set on raising $2.5M annually toward unrestricted dollars. This role is for someone who wants to bring their experience in annual giving and relationship building to a mature team and who is eager to build upon a strong annual giving program. The ideal candidate is dynamic, creative, enthusiastic about annual giving and has a proven track record of strong relationship building skills and being a self-starter.
Essential Functions (other non-essential duties may be assigned)
- Proactively and strategically manage a portfolio of approximately 50 prospects, maintaining a personal visit and solicitation goal of 3-5 visits/solicitations per month to generate a high level of activity and prospect contact; record all activity in contact reports.
- Annually prepare and execute a comprehensive schedule of cultivation and solicitation activities toward increasing alumni participation including plans for reunion class giving, direct mail, peer-to-peer fundraising strategies, Phonathon, volunteer giving, student philanthropy, and digital fundraising including Giving Tuesday and 24-hour giving.
- Oversee the strategies related to the solicitation, engagement and steward ship of the President's Collegium annual donors, which recognizes those who support the college with a gift of $1,000 or more. There is a strong emphasis on donor retention and growth of this program at both the $1,000 level and the contemporary level ($500+ from the nine youngest classes).
- Collaborate with campus partners involved with the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC), Athletics, Student Affairs, the Waterfront and other key constituents of the College, on the annual plan for maximizing annual gifts to said areas.
- Collaborate with colleaguesto influence the timely acknowledgement of donors through personalized communications and events.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and organize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to review work for accuracy.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Frequently required to remain stationary and perform work on a computer or mobile device.
- Frequently required to communicate with others in person or via email, video conferencing, chat applications, social media, and/or telephone.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required (nights, weekends, holidays) to assist with advancement events.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree, plus 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in educational fundraising or comparable field. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
