Position Summary
Provides administrative support for the College's Housing Office and Office of Community Standards. Uses and updates database and other software systems related to both housing and student conduct. Assists with a variety of tasks including responding to inquiries, making room assignments, managing conduct cases, and developing training.


Essential Functions (other non-essential duties may be assigned)
1. Assist in the implementation of processes related to the administrative and business functions of the Housing Office.

  • Assist the Associate Director of Housing in responding to student inquiries regarding campus housing. 
  • Maintain up-to-date housing software programs (Banner and Archibus).
  • Create marketing tools for Housing and Residence Life.
  • Assist with room assignments for incoming and returning students and maintenance of the campus housing database.
  • Assist with billing for property damages.
  • Maintain and process student Withdrawal and College Leave paperwork.
  • Provide coverage for the Housing Office in the absence of the Associate Director of Housing.

2. Assist in the implementation of processes related to the administrative and business functions of the Office of Community Standards.

  • Utilize the student conduct software system, Maxient, to review incident reports of community standards violations, create new conduct cases, manage outcomes of student conduct cases including sending reminders regarding completion of outcomes and closing cases when outcomes are completed, transfer hearing recordings to Maxient files, and follow-up with students to ensure letters to students are viewed in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with the development of, and participate in, ongoing community standards trainings and workshops for staff, faculty, and students. 
  • Assist with advising, training, and supervising the Student Community Standards Board (SCSB).
  • Assist with the preparations for conduct hearings.
  • Serve as a resource for on-campus and off-campus agencies regarding student conduct history.
  • Assist in the implementation of division-wide events such as Autumn Term programs, Family Weekend, Prospective Student Weekend, and Commencement.

3. Provide general office support to the Office of Student Affairs, as needed and requested by the Executive Assistant to the VP for Student Life, the Associate Deans, and the Assistant Deans.  

4. Assist with answering the main phone line daily. Provide fill-in support to the VP for Student Life in the absence of the Executive Assistant to the VP for Student Life.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Occasionally required to move and transport objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Frequently required to remain stationary and perform tasks on a computer.
  • Frequently required to communicate with others in person and via telephone, email, video conferencing, and chat applications.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalency (Associates Degree preferred) and two or more years of relevant experience.
