Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Applications Support Specialist to join our Enterprise Applications team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. The specialist is part of the team that implements new enterprise class systems and applications, and continues to improve and support existing systems. These systems include the Banner ERP (Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Financial Aid, Student Records, HR), Enterprise Reporting, Document Management, Learning Management, and more.  System locations will vary from SaaS, on premise, and in AWS.  This position will work in both a Linux and Windows environment.

The role requires the incumbent to be able to make decisions based on independent judgment while collaborating with the overall team to resolve a range of complex technical problems and providing technical support to customers in a professional manner that maintains goodwill, cooperation, and productive relationships throughout the College. The specialist will be experienced with both Linux (Redhat/CentOS) and Windows servers. Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Argos by Evisions, and understanding of authentication systems is a bonus. A proven ability to initiate, track, and successfully manage multiple detail-oriented projects is important to success in the position. Some night and weekend work may be required to perform maintenance tasks or troubleshoot system outages.

This position is a hybrid position that allows for remote work as coordinated with the Chief Information Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with functional and technical staff members on improvements for the use of existing enterprise applications

• Analyze new systems to understand their implementation and support requirements.

• Analyze and compare different systems in order to develop plans to integrate data between them and collaborate to find solutions.

• Prioritize and appropriately escalate issues to assure timely problem resolution. Carries out fact-finding and analysis of problems; determines most effective problem resolution procedures.

• Suggest, test, implement, and evaluate solutions.

• Write SQL queries to produce reports.

• Clearly document system designs and system processes.

• Assist with applications support tickets and adhere to SLAs to provide quality customer service.

• Assist with user management and ERP security process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5-8 years of relevant work experience. Additional education and IT certifications will be considered in lieu of experience.
