Position Title:                                 Coordinator of Advocacy Services (part-time)

Department:                                   Student Affairs

Immediate Supervisor/Title:         Executive Dir. of Counseling, Health and Advocacy Services

FLSA:                                              non-exempt

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Counseling, Health and Advocacy Services, the Coordinator of Advocacy Services will serve as a confidential advocate, providing support services and information to students in response to experiences involving any form of sexual harassment or violence. The Coordinator will provide advocacy and support services in accordance with federal and local laws and College policies.

This is a part-time 10 hour/week position, 40 weeks per year. It is requested that applicants have the ability to be flexible with working hours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • The ability to work effectively as a confidential advocate balancing the needs of individual students with those of the College.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to provide culturally proficient leadership among peers, and experience interacting with students, parents, and colleagues under a variety of circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of demonstrated experience providing advocacy support
  • 40+ hours of advocacy training
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma response services. Experience in working effectively with college students
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education


  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college students and employees at all levels throughout the institution.
