Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Assistant to the Vice President of Advancement to join our advancement team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. This position supports the Vice President for Advancement of a donor-centered, top-down advancement program through management of simultaneous projects, a complex calendar and communications with trustees, alumni, parents and friends.
The Assistant to the VP will be adept at verbal and written communication and be skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel. The incumbent has the ability to accurately maintain schedules, records, reports, and files, and possesses a strong attention to detail in order to contribute to database integrity.
The advancement team is led by award-winning and seasoned professionals who have built a collaborative environment to foster innovation and growth. Professional growth is encouraged through involvement with Higher Education industry organizations, such as CASE and the Forum of Florida Alumni Associations.

Key Responsibilities
- Learn about the College's top donors and prospects in order to best assist and position the Vice President to maximize fundraising and stewardship at the College.
- Manage the Vice President's calendar to schedule appointments, meet deadlines and coordinate workflow.
- Prepare the Vice President for meetings with colleagues and donors by producing agendas and background material, as needed.
- Assist with and, at times, take the lead on coordinating advancement events.
- Provide administrative support by answering phone calls; drafting and editing correspondence, internal and external documents, reports, agendas and briefings; and attending meetings when necessary.
- Manage the Vice President's purchasing card and reimbursements, and ensure all expense reimbursements presented to the Vice President for approval are correct.
- Contribute to database integrity by maintaining individual records and constituent lists, recording contact reports and actions, and preparing reports and spreadsheets.
- Support administrative functions of the office in collaboration with campus partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of administrative support experience. Experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management, business development, fundraising, program development, or advancement a plus. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
