Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Annual Giving Associate to join our advancement team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. We are searching for a dynamic individual who works collaboratively with the Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving in managing and implementing a successful annual giving program focused on participation and the growth of first-time donors. The Annual Giving Associate is responsible for managing a prospect portfolio and cultivating relationships that lead to participation in the annual giving program.

The Annual Giving Associate will be skilled in developing meaningful relationships with constituents and in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize and organize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

The advancement team is led by award-winning and seasoned professionals who have built a collaborative environment to foster innovation and growth. Professional growth is encouraged through involvement with Higher Education industry organizations, such as CASE and the Forum of Florida Alumni Associations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively and strategically manage a portfolio of approximately 75 prospects, maintaining a personal visit and solicitation goal of 130-150 visits annually to generate a high level of activity and prospect contact; record all activity in contact reports.
  • Annually prepare and execute a comprehensive schedule of solicitation activities toward increasing alumni participation including plans for reunion class giving, direct mail, peer-to-peer fundraising strategies, volunteer giving, student philanthropy, and digital fundraising including the Triton Family Challenge and Eckerd's 24-hour giving initiative, EckerdGives.
  • Oversee and manage the strategies related to growing the matching gift program.
  • Oversee the strategies related to the solicitation, engagement and stewardship of affinity groups.
  • Collaborate with campus partners involved with the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC), Athletics, Student Affairs, the Waterfront and other key constituents of the College, on the annual plan for maximizing annual gifts to those areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to influence the timely acknowledgement of donors through personalized communications and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of related experience in educational fundraising or comparable field. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication and ability to form meaningful relationships with a diverse audience
  • Ability to perform work outside normal business hours as needed.
