Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Academic Records Coordinator to join our Academic Affairs team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. This position is responsible for maintaining and managing student academic records and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. The position will also support the Registrar's Office with administrative tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the office.

The Academic Records Coordinator possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and is adept at conveying information to a diverse group of constituents. The incumbent will need to handle confidential information regarding student records with the utmost discretion, and will display strength in organization and detail orientation.

This position requires regular attendance in the physical office but is eligible for hybrid work at the Registrar's discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle all data entry in the office, taking independent action on routine tasks (registration, course add/drop, major change, room bookings, etc.) and following explicit guidance from the Associate Registrar on higher-level tasks (petitions, degree conferrals, transfer credit entry, etc.)
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and alumni, assisting students with inquiries related to academic records, registration, and graduation, as well as providing general reception service to the Registrar's Office and Financial Aid suite as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and college policies regarding student records and privacy (e.g., FERPA).
  • Provide logistical and operational support for commencement and other graduation related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and students. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
